FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Vancouver, BC (June 1, 2003) -
Mobiform Software Ltd. today
announced the formation of a new software products company. Mobiform
– pronounced “Mobe-e-form”, is focused on leveraging emerging
technologies to build world class software products.
Founders of Mobiform, including CEO Ron DeSerranno, have a combined
total of more than 45 years experience delivering high quality,
innovative software products. Mr. DeSerranno is the founder of
BoardMaster Software, a software business focused on film and
animation products. Mr. DeSerranno is also the former CTO of Motivus
Software Ltd., a Vancouver-based success story with a focus on
mobile solutions for handheld devices and remote access solutions
for mobile workers. Mr. DeSerranno has over 10 years experience
designing, building and delivering real world software products to
customers.
Mobiform CEO Mr. DeSerranno notes “when you look at the productivity
improvements with products like Microsoft .NET, interoperability
improvements with Web Services, and exciting standards being
released by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) like SVG (Scalable
Vector Graphics) and XForms (the next generation of Web Forms) the
future is looking very exciting. We intend to leverage these
emerging technologies and combine them with the best software
development practices to produce solid, light-weight, feature-rich
software products and software development components. As the next
generation of intelligent and interoperable software products is
released, Mobiform will be identified as a leader in leveraging
emerging technologies to design and develop these solutions.”
Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) Targeted
“The first company initiative is to design and build software
development components for SVG. SVG is the most anticipated standard
to be proposed in a long time,” states Mobiform CEO Ron DeSerranno.
“SVG has many of the capabilities of PDF, HTML and Flash. The SVG
components that we produce will be the foundation of our first
generation of software products.”
Mobiform will give a technology preview at the SVG Open 2003
Conference to be held in Vancouver, Canada July 13-18. Mobiform will
demonstrate their .NET SVG capabilities on both the Windows and
Pocket PC platforms.
Mobiform is founder funded and is seeking investment and partnering
opportunities.
The company is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia.
