Mobiform Software Releases XAML Design Product for Windows and Internet Development
Aurora XAML Designer will simplify authoring of Windows Interfaces and Web Sites that leverage Microsoft WPF Technology

Mobiform Software Inc., a leading edge software development firm focusing on XML based graphics technology, today announced the availability of the Aurora XAML Designer. Aurora is a graphics and user interface design application used in the development of Microsoft .NET 3.0 applications and Internet applications that use Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).

WPF is a software development platform developed by Microsoft for creating rich software and Internet applications. WPF is available on Microsoft Vista and Windows XP for Windows development, and will be available as an Internet technology on a variety of platforms in the form of WPF/E.

A major component of WPF is a new markup language named XAML (Extensible Application Markup Language). This new markup can be used for user interfaces in software applications, and form the front end for compelling web and Internet applications.

The Aurora XAML Designer is a powerful design environment used by developers and graphic designers to create user interfaces and graphic content for WPF applications. Aurora generates the XAML markup required for use in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET applications or for direct use in WPF/E applications targeted for the Internet. Aurora authors 2D vector graphics and user interfaces in a multilayered design environment. Aurora exposes the document tree being edited, allows for additions of layers and user interface controls. Aurora has support for styles, control templates and data binding. Aurora also exports into raster formats and can open Visual Studio project files.

In addition to being a standalone design product, Aurora also serves as a graphic design platform with a full object model and plug-in architecture. This allows Aurora to be easily embedded into .NET applications providing an instant design environment for software products with a design and authoring requirement. Mobiform has already licensed the Aurora graphics engine to a leading Fortune 500 firm for use in a mission critical industrial application.
